Ferrari LaFerrari limited edition: Strong, Bold And Powerful
Ferrari’s first hybrid, the LaFerrari, combines peak performance with 40% better fuel efficiency, with only 499 units made—plus one special edition for earthquake relief.
Ferrari’s first hybrid production vehicle, the LaFerrari, uses 40% less gasoline than other Ferraris while producing the most power. Only 499 units, each costing more than $1 million, were constructed based on research from the University of Modena and Ferrari FXX testing. Following the 2016 Central Italy earthquake, a fifth automobile was manufactured and sold.
The naturally aspirated F140 FE V12 engine of the LaFerrari generates 516 ft·lb (700 N·m) at 6,750 rpm and 789 hp (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm. The engine produces an extra 161 horsepower (120 kW) and 148 ft·lb (200 N·m) when coupled to a HY-KERS unit that was designed by Ferrari. The engine’s power-to-weight ratio is 599 horsepower (447 kW) per tonne, and its compression ratio is 13.5:1. The hybrid powertrain makes the automobile weigh 3495 lb (1585 kg) when completely loaded, even though its dry weight is 2767 lb (1255 kg).
Similar to contemporary Formula One steering wheels, LaFerrari’s modern Formula vehicle has a seven-speed F1 DCT gearbox for the rear wheels.
The highest speed of the Ferrari FXX is over 217 mph, and it takes less than three seconds to get from 0 to 60 mph, less than seven seconds to go from 0 to 124 mph, and 15 seconds to go from 0 to 186 mph. With a lap time of 01:19.7, it is the quickest Ferrari road vehicle around the Fiorano private test circuit.
